Counselling

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. I work with you to develop a counselling plan to meet your specific needs, whether your challenges relate to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss or relationship issues.

Anxiety

I understand that reaching out for support can be daunting, especially if you're grappling with anxiety. That’s one of the reasons I work hard to create a safe space for you. Where you’ll find an open, light room with a choice of seating, pillows, blankets and an offer of a tea, coffee or a cold drink.

I know that just the thought of counselling can trigger anxious feelings. You might worry about what counselling looks like, what’s going to happen, am I going to be judged or am I going to find it hard to put words to my thoughts and feelings. Let me assure you, it's absolutely okay. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you, ensuring that you're comfortable every step of the way.

In our sessions, there's no need to rush or fear being misunderstood. I'll listen attentively, without judgment, offering a compassionate ear. Together, we'll explore practical techniques to manage your anxiety and build a toolbox personalised to your needs.

Think of our sessions as a conversation between friends. My goal is to provide a calming space where you can share your thoughts openly. Click here to read about how Belinda worked with me to successfully overcome her debilitating anxiety.

Let's work together to untangle the threads of anxiety and pave the way for a more peaceful, fulfilling life.

Depression

Depression can cast a heavy cloud over life, making it challenging to see a way forward. It can make everyday tasks seem overwhelming and connecting with others almost impossible. I recognise the weight you may carry and the daily struggles you face. My approach is rooted in empathy and a commitment to creating an atmosphere where you feel heard and understood.

I want to assure you that our sessions are a judgment-free zone and I won't push you to share more than you're comfortable with. Together, we'll navigate your feelings at a pace that suits you, fostering an environment where you can express yourself openly. Click here to read Robert's story of overcoming depression.

My goal is to help you develop tools that can empower you in your daily life. Let's work collaboratively to explore practical strategies to manage the challenges that depression presents. You're not alone on this path, and I'm here to support you.

Trauma

When you’ve experienced trauma, it can be hard to trust people, making reaching out for support all that more difficult. In fact, it’s a very brave step that can feel overwhelming at first. It’s normal to feel hesitant and I want you to know that I make every effort to help you feel as comfortable as possible as soon as possible.

I've crafted a compassionate and calm environment where you can share your experiences at your own pace. I recognise that it's not easy, and I'm here to walk beside you, providing a connection that fosters trust and understanding. In our sessions, there's no judgment—just a listening ear and a compassionate heart.

I understand that talking about your experiences may be challenging, but together, we'll navigate this process, just like Janice did, in a way that feels comfortable for you.

We'll work at a pace that respects your needs. You are always in control of the information you share and the direction we take.
